Faerie and Fairies are mythical creatures, usually of great beauty. They say that fairies were created when the first child laughed and the laugh broke into a thousand pieces and faeries were created. The tooth fairy is part of the myth. Tinker Bell is probably the most famous fairy – she is a faerie from Peter Pan in Walt Disney’s classic movie.
Faeries are not all good and have it has been told that they lure men into their fairy rings and bewitch them.
Faeries are magickal folk who live in a world that we cannot usually see – a parallel world of magic and mystery. They do not like to be seen be seen by human beings and if they want to they can make themselves invisible.
The word is spelt in many ways – here are some variations – fairy, faerie, faeries, fairies. Peter Pan and Tinker Bell are the most well known reference. Are there African Fairies? Do Traditional healers believe in faeries?
